Madonna-Heights

“Inspiring Women and Girls”

For more than 45 years, Madonna Heights has helped adolescent girls, women and families overcome the devastating effects of poverty, neglect and abuse. Based in Dix Hills, NY, Madonna Heights provides a wide range of services to thousands of Long Islanders. We believe personal growth and emotional healing lay the foundation for a brighter future.

Dix Hills Campus

Located on 56 beautiful wooded acres in the township of Huntington, our Madonna Heights Campus offers a structured, therapeutic setting for adolescent girls and young women facing a variety of behavioral, social or mental challenges.

Residential Treatment Center

The Residential Treatment Center (RTC) at Madonna Heights offers a structured and nurturing environment on a campus setting for those girls needing 24 hour care in order to address their behavioral, emotional, educational, social, and family problems which have prevented them from living at home and in the community. The girls reside in one of four units and attend The Madonna Heights School. The RTC includes a wide range of therapeutic services; with medical, mental health and substance abuse supports.

Residential Treatment Facility

The Residential Treatment Facility (RTF) is a 24-hour structured therapeutic program that provides the most intensive residential mental health services available outside of a hospital. We serve a diverse population of adolescent females who require a variety of individualized, strength-based, trauma-focused interventions in order to guide each client in their process of stabilization and recovery. The RTF staff strives to create an environment that promotes nonviolence, open communication, and social responsibility in order to provide the client a safe place to learn and grow. Our ultimate commitment is in our mission to provide quality care and treatment to each client that passes through our doors.

Day School

This program is an alternative to residential care and is recommended for students who can be treated effectively residing in their home within the community. Participants in this program attend the Madonna Heights School and are referred by home district committee and special education.

Therapeutic Arts Program

An important part of the Madonna Heights School curriculum is the Therapeutic Arts Program. The Therapeutic Arts Program is an integral part of student’s educational, emotional and social development. It provides girls with a safe and creative outlet for self-expression that helps them gain a greater understanding of themselves and the world around them.

Morning Star I

Our Morning Star Community provides single women in recovery with a safe, supportive, home-like structure focused on helping them to develop a drug and alcohol-free, self-supporting lifestyle. The program offers an environment that teaches, strengthens and encourages women in the recovery process.

Morning Star II

Based on the Morning Star I model, Morning Star II allows mothers to have their pre-school age children live with them as they progress through recovery. An important goal of this program is to reunite these women with their children and to acquaint them with good parenting practices.

Gatehouse

We provide shelter for an especially vulnerable group – homeless young women between the ages of 16-21. Our Gatehouse Residence offers temporary housing as we help young women return home or transition to a longer-term setting.

Family Service Clinic

Stronger families make stronger communities. Our Family Service Clinic is an outpatient mental health clinic supporting families of all types as they overcome obstacles and strengthen existing bonds. We offer individual, marital, family and play therapies to all members of families living in Nassau and Suffolk counties. Fees based on a sliding scale. Insurance accepted.
